Bob-the-builder-in-an-industrial-accident cookies

Well, we made the cookies, but the mix of a mom who isn't too familiar with using icing and an almost 3 year old resulted in the bob the builder cookies looking like Bob had been in an idustrial accident.
The cookies themselves tasted great (i made some samplers that we weren't going to ice). We put the yellow icing on (for bob's hat) o.k. but then I was unsure how to attach the eyes, nose, mouth and sideburns. The instructions just said to push them into the cookies, but they didn't seem to stick that way, so James decided to put them in the icing done for the hat. Well, they stuck then!! So, I figured...whatever works!

I also baked a new recipe for Apple cupcakes. We'll see how they turned out tomorrow!

Rain

Well, it seems to be a very wet spring here. We had one nice day yesterday, but other than that it's been rain, rain, rain.
Yesterday, James and I got as many dandelions as we could find and also swept all the gravelly mess on our driveway!
Today we went to No Frills, by the time we came out, it was raining again!
Now, I'm going to try to do some baking for tomorrow. (An indoor activity at least!)

Danger baby/ Party baby/ Dancing baby

James now uses one of the above 3 terms to refer to himself.
He also sings "All the (choose one of the above terms like: ) party babies in the house say I,I,I"
It's pretty funny.

He also comes up with very interesting questions. We were in the checkout at Loblaws and he said "My Dadung's my grandfather, right?" They must have read a book with a grandfather at his daycare as he calls my dad "Gadda" or "Grandad".

My one daffodil looks about to bloom but the dandelions are surely beating it. Hopefully, James and I will get to head out and pluck the dandelions tomorrow. He loves to find dandelions!

Tomorrow we are also going to try to make Bob the Builder cookies for church on Sunday. Wish me luck!

Spring

Well, it has become chilly again but it is still Spring!
Our one lone daffodil seems to be trying to bloom, while the ones in St. Catharines were out in full force during our visit.
Next week Myron will be starting as a 'resident' at the cancer clinic (he's been a post-doc up until now) and I will be starting teaching the labs for the spring physics course.

James' birthday is also rolled into all this. We will be celebrating at Church this Sunday with Bob the Builder cookies and other refreshments. Then on his actual birthday May 7th we will be having a small BBQ party with his friend Tara and her family. Then on May 8th, Marla will be coming to visit. I am trying to order interior doors for our house since James locked the bathroom door and Myron had to break it to get in! It's not too nice for guests to deal with the lack of privacy! (I'm going to measure them now while I'm thinking about it!)

Back!

We are back from our trip!!
I got to see Shieleens baby girl.
Sleep was not good though, very tired.
Myron accepted the contract in Kingston, so we won't be moving!

Trip

James woke up this morning singing about going to the train station. He is pumped for the trip.
We still don't know if we are moving or not.

Potty Training

I gave James some new Bob the builder underwear and this has inspired him to begin potty training again. Now that it's nice out we can do most of our test runs outside! We haven't been very successful in making it to the potty in time yet, but he does seem to understand what is happening and the difference between diapers and underwear at least!

Spring is finally here

Finally a nice beautiful day!
We have a busy week here at the Rogers' homestead.
Last night we had games night at the church.
Tomorrow we're going to see the production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the Grand Theatre. (Karen will be back for James!)
Friday Myron has a dinner with work.
Saturday there is a speaker from Good Samaritan ministries at our Church and Saturday evening Myron has his mens group at the Church. They're going to be discussing 'Accountability'
Got all that? :)
