Hurricane
We are preparing for rain as the old eye of Katrina approaches. Must pick up all James' toys from the yard!
On Sunday, we are going to be looking at Jesus' Nature miracles (calming the storm at sea, feeding the 5000, etc.). James electred to do the 'participatory' portion of the service, so I'm planning on making lots of blue Jello and creating a 'storm at sea in a cup' that people can later eat. I will have people put the jello in a cup, with some cool whip for clouds and sprinkles for fish. They will then have to shake the cup to make a storm. Maybe then I'll have something medatative to read about how Jesus calms the storms in our lives. Any ideas about how to calm a Jello storm appreciated!
James got a little gift when he left daycare today because Payton's parents got married on the weekend. James was quite excited about this because he knew there were 2 chocolates in it! He quickly scarfed the chocolates when we got home. There were also some coloured mints included and James tried one of them but did not like it AT ALL! He declared that he would try them again when he was 4. It was pretty funny really!

one thing that came to mind ... was the expression 'storm in a teacup' meaning it's not as bad as you think. Which is what everything is if you look at it from God's perspective. He wants us to turn to him. For some - it even means being swallowed by a whale.
Poor Jonah. It must have been horrible being vomited back up again, and STILL HAVING to go to Ninevah on a mission he didn't want to do in the slightest!)
your jelly (jello) in a cup sounds fun. Great idea!!!
