lost day
Today was a pretty miserable day with having a poor night and trying to fight a cold.
Man tried to steal Olmp. torch in Gravesend video. (from a few days ago)
My memory of Day 2 of the Olympics in Atlanta was that we drove from North Carolina to Atlanta. We were heading straight for the Olympic sites to orient ourselves even though we didn't have tickets for this day. Atlanta has 8 lane highways and as we drove in we marveled at how quiet they were. Apparently the regulars were scared off by the dire gridlock warnings. But we were on the outskirts of Atlanta. We didn't want to test our luck with the downtown so we pulled into a special olympic park and ride. Parked the car. Tried hard to remember what lot we were in. Got on the bus. It was not long before we realized that this "special" service was not well planned. We got to the olympic sites and explored the city. Attempting to get back to the parking lot that we started from using the "special" service was near to impossible. We ended up at the Atlanta police station and the police men drove us to our car.
That was the first and last time we used the "special" service.
For the rest of our time there we used the regular Atlanta transit (MARTA)- all efficient and smooth sailing transport wise after that.
I have applied my Vicks for the night and hope for a restful and healing sleep. I hope the racoons hear this and understand to stay away!
